It’s no secret what the NHS needs: - increase bed capacity by 20,000 - increase primary care capacity by 50% Total cost = ~£12b Total amount the private sector took out of the NHS last year = £12b Yes, it’s a political choice!

Conservatives promised 5000 more GPs by 2020 in 2015. Knowing they were failing then promised 6000 by 2024 in 2019 In 2023 there are 2200 fewer GPs than 2015 but remarkably they are providing more appts UK deserves & requires more GPs, who lack the funding to care for patients

People aren't waiting 40 hours for an ambulance because of industrial action by doctors. They're waiting 40 hours for an ambulance because the Tories are systematically underfunding the NHS.

It's not about whether this years pay award is 6%, it's about the uncompetitiveness of hospital doctor's pay in the UK compared to competitor English speaking countries, the huge impact that is having on keeping expertise, experience and the next generation. This is hurting care.
'Normally in a war when soldiers are expected to fight at the frontline, everyone knows that you can't do that all the time.' As the NHS turns 75, St Bartholomew's Chief Executive Charles Knight tells @HenryRiley1 why its morale has dropped to an all-time low. @mdstbarts

When people who lie sit in the highest offices of Government we have a huge problem of trust The strikes did not cause the failure of the NHS, 4.3million people were waiting over 18 weeks prior to 2019 The strikes were & are caused by Government failures
'We had strikes...that is the reason waiting lists are going up.' @NickFerrariLBC asks Rishi Sunak why 7.9 million people are currently waiting for NHS treatment.

England now paying twice as much to private healthcare as they are to the entire primary care (GP) budget!
NHS SPENDING - PER PERSON £3200 ~ Total ~ £9/day £160 ~ GP Services ~ 45p/day £320 ~ Medications ~ 90p/day £320 ~ Private Healthcare providers ~ 90p/day £1000 ~ NHS /Hospital staff ~ £3/day Primary/Community care needs a bigger share of funding or it will all collapse

They’ve just completely given up any and all pretence of not being detestable c*nts.
This is what we’re up against. The Labour Party, a subset of lawyers, criminal gangs - they're all on the same side, propping up a system of exploitation that profits from getting people to the UK illegally. I have a plan to stop it. Here’s how 🧵 https://t.co/ez3rYIU0uQ

BREAKING NEWS (from FT) UK Tory govt is set to spend £110bn just on interest payments on our debt this year- about the same as the entire EDUCATION BUDGET. Our economy has been so badly managed, we are set to have the HIGHEST DEBT INTEREST IN THE DEVELOPED WORLD this year. 😡

The Prime Minister is today boasting about his “recently passed laws” Now watch this - it’s probably the most shocking video you will see today. Where is the outrage from UK media?
AS SHOCKING as it sounds we face a democratic crisis in the UK as this out of control Government shuts down accountability in Parliament, through the courts & on the streets. That’s why I’m supporting @libertyhq who are courageously defending our freedom & democracy. PLEASE WATCH

Boris Johnson has made Charlotte Owen a lawmaker for life. She has very little work experience of any kind and has no significant achievements to her name. She is now a life peer. I want to know the reason why and I want to know if it was corrupt.

£1 a week That’s the average cost to each UK resident of a pay increase for NHS Drs & other staff, to keep them in the NHS, & appreciate their added value to all of us That’s what the Government has been saying is unacceptable & unaffordable on our behalf

Junior doctors have suffered a massive 26% real terms pay cut since 2008 Having risked their lives to keep us safe during the pandemic Rishi Sunak says they must accept another crappy real terms pay cut or he will IMPOSE it on them Thats bullying & absolute boll**** to that
The Prime Minister has told @BMA_JuniorDocs his 6% offer “is final, there will be no more talks on pay. We will not negotiate” So he now plans to IMPOSE a real terms pay cut on them That’s not negotiating - it’s bullying! #IstandWithJuniorDoctors

The headline you didn’t see yesterday Instead it’s busy A&E overwhelmed with patients unable to get GP appts In reality hospital A&E is seeing no more than 2019, hospital OPD only 90% activity & hospitals barely managing the 7m waiting for treatments, 1.5m for investigations 🧵
