HBV is a complex small DNA virus. The precore protein is not required for HBV replication, but I found it could regulate viral replication and virion secretion. This is the last paper of my graduate research. Check it out! @mbiojournal #HBV #HepatitisB.

Chronic hepatitis B remains a worldwide public health issue. The hepatitis B virus (HBV) precore protein is not essential for HBV replication but may facilitate viral persistence.
