CA has continued to lead, from passing the nation’s first #PaidFamilyLeave program in 2002, to expanding paid leave coverage and benefits with #SB616 and #SB951! Strong Paid Sick & Safe Days, PFL and SDI programs make CA better for working families and strengthen our economy.
✅ Expanding leave for workers and families: @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom signed legislation giving workers new access to at least five days of paid sick leave each year. The Governor also increased paid family leave from 6 to 8 weeks for parents of newborn children, and put paid

It was a pleasure to join IAM Local 1781 shop stewards in Burlingame and present a training on California’s Paid Family Leave Laws! During the training, we covered the exciting changes to our PFL and SDI Programs, which now provide 70%-90% of regular income and time off.
