Having won almost everything in the Women’s game during a trophy-laden career, Dr Karen Jones now works as an Emergency Medicine Consultant helping tackle emergency health problems in A&E!
Annette Gardner spent 17 days in Intensive Care at the Alexandra Hospital with Coronavirus.
Her daughter Emma said her last goodbyes to her mum, but now Annette is leaving the ICU and on the road to recovery.
Emma said: "She's a real fighter, I can't thank the staff enough!"

Leighton Webster walked out of Alexandra Hospital after 75 days fighting Covid-19 to see his children for the first time in nearly 3 months! 🙌💙
Leighton was rushed to hospital back in April and spent more than 6 weeks in a coma, but is now well enough to go home to his family!

have published their report today following their latest inspection of our hospitals.
The report recognises the success of our staff in improving the quality and safety of care, with the CQC recommending it be considered that we exit special measures.
A mum and son have both beaten cancer after battling the disease at the same time at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The Rigby family saw both mum Vici & son George diagnosed within months of each other.
But 3 and 1/2 years later, Vici & George have now both had the all-clear!
Imagine spending the last 13 months undergoing Chemotherapy treatment at just 14.

Dr Shafeek has dedicated his life to treating patients with blood cancer.
But in a cruel twist of fate, was diagnosed with the disease himself in January.
After months of intense treatment and a stem cell transplant he is now in complete remission and returns to work next week!
We want to say a big thank you to the 18 soldiers who have helped out our staff over the last few weeks.
The support they provided in a number of non-clinical roles was really valuable & helped our staff focus on caring for patients for Covid-19.

Yesterday we opened a brand new 29-bed Acute Medical Unit at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
The unit creates additional capacity and allows patients referred by their GP to be admitted directly to the ward, helping reduce delays and congestion in the Emergency Department.
