Before 2022, we hadn't seen any Willow Emerald Damselflies at Wildern. That year, there were a couple of sightings and they've now become firmly established, especially at Coltsfoot Pond. Here are 5 from 29/9, including 2 oviposting pairs at Coltsfoot Pond @hbic @Britnatureguide

Common Sexton beetles are often found on a dead animal. This one, on 18th September, was sadly found near a dead hedgehog. It's covered in mites, probably Poecilochirus carebi, a new species for Wildern @bigmeadowsearch @Hants_BIC @GreenHampshire

A 2024 report by HBIC (Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre) has called Wildern Nature Park and "ecological wonder". The report was released in July 2025 and we think it sums up our lovely reserve to a tee @Hants_BIC @bigmeadowsearch @DorsetWildlife @GreenHampshire
