Are you sure this is the 1980s? I thought Liberty's crown was closed to visitors in late 1970s.

this remains one of my favorite exchanges in all of TV. Peggy and Roger only have a few scenes together throughout the show but every one is golden.

Of course, Harry Lime (Orson Welles) was unquestionably a bad guy (watering penicillin) but Johnny McQueen, James Mason's character, is more ambiguous, making the chase more diabolical.

The nighttime pursuit that concludes THE THIRD MAN is the most famous sequence Carol Reed ever shot. His ODD MAN OUT (1947), made two years earlier, is essentially that same brilliant chase extended to feature length. A must-watch tonight on NoirAlley. #TCMParty

Late in Bing Crosby's life, his nephew Howard asked him a casual question while they were out playing golf together. "What was the single most difficult thing you ever had to do in your career?" Howard expected Hollywood stories. Maybe gossip about a demanding director. Perhaps

Plows are deliberately avoiding horse carriage stands, seemingly at @NYCMayorsOffice request to intentionally hurt the horse carriage industry during the busy season with an excuse to keep them suspended. I smell a lawsuit. @TwuSamuelsen @NYCCouncil @JulieMenin @ZohranKMamdani

Thank God the El Dorado building on the Upper West Side was constructed before the state capped density in the city in 1961. Strolling through Central Park on a wintery day wouldn't be the same without this Art Deco masterpiece peeping over snow-covered trees.
