Had a lovely shift in ED. Everyone in a good mood, nice waiting time, even had a patient stop me as I walked to my car to thank me for our hard work! Days like this do remind you of how great it is to work in health. Wish we had the resources to make every day like this.

Had a great time on the pilot ultrasound guided lumbar puncture course at QAH today. Brilliantly informative and can't wait to put it into practise. Thanks to @RRamnauth and his team for running it

Imagine having to have a conversation with someone who speaks in such an inflammatory way. @wesstreeting has so much time to write letters and articles, maybe he can give us a straight answer on if doctors should be paid less than their assistants?.

Awful language from @wesstreeting Is this what we are to expect from @UKLabour - waging war against unions and their members?

FIFTY TWO PERCENT OF F2s WITHOUT A JOB?!.This isn't workforce planning, this is a workforce disaster. Time and time again, governments and senior medical "leaders" have clearly failed resident doctors on a multitude of issues.

👏🏾 @wesstreeting lied about restoring doctors' pay and is desperately trying to change the narrative and shift blame. All I am seeing is Steve Barclay but with the colour red instead of blue.

We need another review to explain why trusts, colleges, management, regulators etc were and continue to be so eager to trial thoughtless workforce experiments on patients and staff. Scope creep continues to remain an issue.

Finally some flexible thinking. There is a lot of money that could be saved in looking at reducing money spent by doctors on loans, GMC fees, exam fees, etc. Alongside reducing pay erosion .

The NHS does not make sense. You'll pay physicians assistant more than doctors, yet that doctor is covering a whole floor of sick patients at night, has 5+ years of University education, and £100K debt. This is financial idiocy. How can you not be for pay restoration?.

8/ The financial logic here is absurd. Two-year supervised training, enhanced oversight, + higher pay bands - all while refusing full pay restoration for doctors who trained 10+ years. It’s cheaper only if you don’t value safety.

Doctors deserve to be paid fairly. Rachel Reeves said settling the strikes is a drop in the ocean compared to the cost. Labour clearly must have forgotten. See you on the picket lines ✊🏾.

Following yesterday’s strike ballot result, we met with @wesstreeting . It’s clear: the Government is refusing to negotiate on pay. We are now preparing for a full 5 day walk-out, beginning on Friday 25 July. Our door will always be open to constructive talks. #PayRestoration

How quickly the narrative changes. When it was the Tories refusing to negotiate Streeting thought it unacceptable. Now it's the greedy doctor's fault, even though he's the one that broke his promise!.

Wes Streeting has warned junior doctors that the public will “not forgive them” for launching another wave of disruptive strikes as he made clear that a pay rise was off the table .
