Google claims, in court no less, the open web is dying
But wait, what is Google's side of story as they also just posted their 25 pages. Google states (this is news by the way) "the open web is already in rapid decline" which IMHO is a pretty rich claim considering Google has dominated distribution, design, monetization of it. /10

Well there you have it... It's SerpApi. Note, Perplexity is also a customer of theirs -> Sources: OpenAI has been partially using Google search results scraped by a startup called SerpApi for ChatGPT responses on current events like news and sports "OpenAI is getting the data

WOW, there's a LOT of interest in the API 🤩 We're now looking through the applications and selecting the first batch of participants. We'll start onboarding around mid-September, but we'll start very small, so if you don't get an email from us, it might take a few more months.

ChatGPT 4o tells me since I am neither a free user nor a Pro user (I am "only" a paying Plus user) I will have to wait for access. I have to say I am disappointed.
when you get access to gpt-5, try a message like "use beatbot to make a sick beat to celebrate gpt-5". it's a nice preview of what we think this will be like as AI starts to generate its own UX and interfaces get more dynamic. it's cool that you can interact with the

Just updated data in light of eye-popping acceleration of 'zero-click' searches as Google's AI Overview scheme captures web traffic. I've been watching G's ad revenue mix shift from network (publishers) to its own properties for over a decade. It just hit 90% for first time. 1/2

I wonder if Google went from being a search engine to being a publisher. And that is why there is no need for a @searchliaison anymore.

How do I turn of the auto-translated voiceover (english -> german)? They are really bad quality. @YouTubeInsider

Proof that ChatGPT Plus is secretly Google-powered - “hidden page” experiment 1. I coined a nonsense word. 2. I then put it on a page not linked anywhere. 3. Forced Google to index it via Search Console; left all other engines unaware. 4. Asked ChatGPT Plus to define the term →

Google hates web publishers, they see themselves as the publisher via theft now. Cancel their Section 230 protections asap.
Google Discover officially gets AI-generated summaries - no publisher wants it - plus these new more overlay windows https://t.co/Xq6KYBBeTG via @andelldam and @TechCrunch

.@googlesearchc just enabled the new "Insights" tab for me. Fascinating how little helpful this is for news publishers since all "trending up" articles are new articles and everything "trending down" are old ones.

a bit strange to see Google News listed there. As if Google News is recognized as a news publisher itself.
I’m not sure whether this information is useful, but when you enable “preferred sources,” the suggestion results display the well-known label “uvSitechunk” which points to the source’s domain name—more precisely, to the exact sub-domain. That reminded me of the Google leak

Hey @googleaidevs @AnthropicAI I have spent the last 5+ years making things look awesome in the terminal. You could have access to all the expertise for the price of a sponsorship, and help fund open source. #worthashot
