Many immune evasion strategies to protect SC-islets from transplantation rejection employ CD47 overexpression, while this new paper suggests CD47 negatively impacts beta cell function. Clearly many of such strategies warrant more detailed studies.

What about review panels for the NIH or other funding agencies?! How often anyone remember serving in a panel with an African American, Native American, Latino, Hispanic, or non-white colleague? In my case probably twice in 30 years😡 Tell your SRO!!!
