Posting this for my German audience: Grosse Wärmepumpen oder was Deutschland von Dänemark lernen kann!

In 2024 German lignite production dropped back to the level of *drum roll* 1916! We know that electricity got cleaner in Germany, but that drop in lignite production is quite staggering.

Awesome! "Today, there are around 800,000 electric cars in Norway, which corresponds to 27.5 percent of the total vehicle fleet in the country. They currently consume 2.75 TWh of the country's energy production. Despite this, the country's total energy use in road transport is

Note that this week had the highest average demand of all 180 weeks that I've modelled so far. 26.8 GW, or 13% above average. But peak demand of 37.7GW was short of the record 39.3GW seen on 16 Dec 2024. Confirming that wind+PV+5hrs of BESS well suited for extreme summer demand.

An absolute record! 78% of private car purchases (and leasing) were electric vehicles in Denmark in January 2025. (Diesel cars are down to 56(!) private buyers for the whole country in the Month of January).

Starlink is an absolute game changer. Seriously, I don't think people understand this enough. I have experienced Starlink now in airplanes and remote places without other internet options. Mostly outside the EU/US. I don't think people understand how big of a deal this is.
