Went to a great leadership session tonight with Stanley McChrystal, who wrote “Team of Teams”. He said leaders should “delegate until it hurts”: delegate until it feels uncomfortable, then delegate some more, then support/take responsibility for those taking the delegated actions

There’s a tendency to think that staff can transform the NHS while still doing their day job. This isn’t correct we need to create the opportunity & the space to look up & work with the public.

Announcement today of 75 areas (covers 50% of English LAs) to receive Best Start for Life funding will build on existing centres (such as the 3000 Sure Starts in England) but will put baby’s needs at the heart - joining up all support services to give best start @first1001days
