Went to the library to get some work done and forgot that the cyber attack means their Internet is still down. I hope this is a wake up call to other government agencies. From what I've heard from friends who know this stuff, there's a lot of upgrading our governments need to do.

If our railroads were nationalized, so many regional rail lines would pencil out quickly. I hope one day our Democrats in DC can push for this change. In the meantime, I hope local leaders have their ear to the ground for opportunities to purchase rail right of way.

Even if it was possible to run more service, the costs of running frequent service is extremely high on a corridor you don't own, and have no leverage to negotiate with the railroads on.
