Time for a belated (my graphics friend recently had a kid, congrats, Laura!) victory lap! On Saturday, with a clear quorum and over 82% of the vote, I was endorsed by the DFL! With a clear-cut progressive park board slate, it's time to chart a new future for our parks!

We had a great time meeting our new neighbors at National Night Out tonight! We just moved to a new neighborhood, so it was wonderful getting to know everyone, building a little community, and chatting about parks!

Campaign finance update: Elizabeth Shaffer raised $123k in the last six months for a grand total of $144k. She's spent $66k through July. Nearly $77k cash remaining on hand. Kinda obscene if you ask me.

Being told repeatedly not to believe our lying eyes is maddening. The genocide of Gaza must stop. At this point, no dem who takes AIPAC money should have the support of any good conscious voters.
AIPAC is spreading lies. The Israeli government is starving Palestinians and everyone knows it. How can we trust Democrats to fight for anything if they take money from people who lie like this about starving kids.

As a commissioner, I became used to losing important votes to a status-quo park board. So, it was deeply meaningful to see that I was the only opposed incumbent to be endorsed. DFLers want a park board that is serious about climate, youth, and progress. I'm ready for a change!

In a bittersweet moment today, an arrest was made in the shooting of an 11-year-old boy at Folwell Park. Bitter, because the suspect is a 16-year-old boy. We need stronger investments in youth in and around Minneapolis, not cuts that put maintenance over kids.
