£182m profit. Still refusing fairness. VUR Village Hotels Ltd made £182m after tax, but @FairHospitality workers must take to the picket line, against the world’s largest asset management company, for respect, equal pay, and dignity. Support the workers, support the strike ✊

🚨BREAKING: Employment Rights Bill passes in the House of Lords and will become law. This is an historic day for working people across the country, and the trade unions who represent them. Some of the watershed measures this Bill delivers: ➡️ Banning exploitative zero hours

We appreciate the demands of @LivingRent_Edi & residents of Westfield Court, Inchickery, and Oxcars to delay any vote on the demolishing of these blocks. We are in a housing crisis & council workers in Housing already struggle to find accommodation for Edinburgh residents.

It's absolutely astonishing that the bin workers have been on strike in Britain's second biggest city for eight months under a Labour government. The dispute has run on so long that now the strike-breakers who were recruited to try and end it are also themselves going on strike.
BREAKING: The Birmingham bin strike will continue into next year after agency workers agreed to join council employees on the picket line in a landmark vote. @Shamaan_SkyNews reports ⬇️ https://t.co/G8gDzyqv3Q 📺 Sky 501 and YouTube

To end this dispute, we need to see: 1️⃣ an end to excessive unfair & location surveillance 2️⃣ a policy on digital surveillance, setting principles of fair use 3️⃣a culture change, where the council listens to the voice of Housing Property Operatives, not forcing changes on them.

Any use of telematics data outwith this policy used to pull up workers is unfair and excessive surveillance. We raised this with management. Since October, we have been promised a solution, yet none has been forthcoming, forcing us to move to an industrial action ballot.

Management proposed introducing ‘exception reports’ for trades workers in June. If a worker committed an act that the system calls an ‘exception’ (speeding, dangerous driving) then it is logged on the report and sent to their line manager each week.

🚨 BREAKING 🚨 Workers at @Village_Hotels & @Starbucks in Glasgow have voted overwhelmingly to take all out strike action from 28th November to 2nd January inclusive, the chains most lucrative 5 weeks. 100% yes vote on a majority turnout. The ball is in your court Village.

Solidarity with @ScottishSPCA workers on strike in Dunfermline ✊ If your pay doesn't raise with inflation, you're getting your pay cut 📉 2 years in a row is inadmissible.
