John Paul Kasse – MUBS: The Learning Management System (LMS) developed to empower science teachers integrate ICT in teaching science subjects is ready, and online trials have been organized ahead of the training. This was at an engagement meeting with USEEP Education team.

One more day, and the @WorldBankAfrica team handling the Mid-Term Review for USEEP Project will conclude their engagements. Great decisions have been taken, that will enable the Project Coordination Unit to steer the project to a successful completion.

The ball ⚽️ was set rolling today. The @WorldBankAfrica team is on a Support Mission at the @Educ_SportsUg for the midterm review for USEEP project. Day one was a great success, looking forward to the remaining 4 days of interaction.

USEEP Project Technical Committee had a meeting today to make 2nd last touches on reports ahead of the Midterm Review by the @WorldBankAfrica scheduled for June 10, 2024

Mr. @ArikirizaDidas, the Chairperson of National Private Education Institutions Association (NAPEIA) appreciated the Ministry for giving them an opportunity to learn about USEEP project, & gave a commitment from the participant to support the project implementation in their areas

Mr. Mukose George, the Principal Education Officer in the Private Secondary Institutions department of @Educ_SportsUg used the opportunity to remind the proprietor of their responsibilities in ensuring the functionality of their schools, safety & security students.

Ms. @brendakasya, USEEP Project Coordinator implored them to release the teams whenever they are requested to, & to support them to ensure the pedagogical skills and teaching using ICT is implemented after the training.

USEEP has contracted @UMI & @MUBS to train 4,000 H/Ms, deputies, & 2,000 teachers of science and IT from private schools countrywide. They understood what their role is, and what to expect from project team, & verified the existence & registration status of schools in their area.

Yesterday, USEEP project and the department of Private Education Institutions (PSI) at the Ministry of Education and Sports held a fruitful engagement with proprietors of lower secondary schools, from across the country. The aim was to help them understand their role in USEEP,

The Project Coordinator for @USEEPUg Ms. @brendakasya has successfully hosted the 3rd Project Steering Committee meeting in which keep decisions concerning the project were made a head of the @WorldBank scheduled Mid-term review of the project implementation.

They will coordinate other science teachers’ cluster-based trainings in the same course, across the country, in small groups of a minimum of 40 teachers per cluster. They will also be taught by UMI, while MUBS will train them on intergrating IT in teaching science courses.

The are Ordinary Level teachers from both Public and Private schools across the country that have completed a course in Education Leadership and Management, sponsored by @USEEPUg, a @WorldBankAfrica funded project implemented by the @Educ_SportsUg

Earlier today, Mr. Robert Bellermine Okudi, the Commissioner Education Planning at @Educ_SportsUg together with the @USEEPUg Project Coordinator @brendakasya and the Executive Director of @UMIUganda Dr. James L. Nkata handed over certificates to 100 science teachers.

The chairperson appreciated the Project Coordinator @brendakasya for the progress towards the launch of the project with the flagging off of the the first 10 schools early 2024. In attendance was @MoWT_Uganda @mofpedU @MoICT_Ug @OPMUganda @ministry_lands, @Mglsd_UG & others

The Uganda Secondary Education Expansion Project (USEEP) Project Coordination Unit has Successfully held the 2nd Project steering committee meeting chaired by Ms. Ketty Lamaro, the PS of the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Mr. Ssebukyu has been the project coordinator since the project was declared effective on May 19th, 2022, until he clocked his retirement. We wish his the best in his next steps.

The in-coming PC @brendakasya thanked him for the effort vested in the preparation of USEEP. “A good foundation you laid for this project has made it easy for us to maneuver through in your absence. We however request you to keep an open door for us to consult you when necessary”
