I'm thrilled to share that I've been awarded an NIH NRSA F32 fellowship through the NCI to support my postdoctoral studies at Rockefeller! Beyond thankful, and looking forward to tackling unsolved problems at the interface of chemical and cancer biology over the next three years

Because of the high fluorescent enhancement, biocompatibility, and multicomponent imaging capabilities, we anticipate that fluorogenic cyclopropenones should enable a broad range of biological pursuits. Congrats and many thanks to my advisor at @UCIChemistry, @jenn_prescher!.

We next showcased this reaction's utility to image biological events as both a standalone method and alongside other fluorogenic chemistries. Excitingly, dual orthogonal reactions successfully imaged two metabolites simultaneously in live cells, a first for the field.

We converted "dim" cyclopropenone reporters into coumarin products via a regioselective activation and cyclization strategy. Fluorescent enhancement was among the brightest fluorogenic reactions to date (~1600x)!.

Thrilled to see this story finally out today in @J_A_C_S. Here, we pioneer a first-in class fluorescence "turn-on" reaction of cyclopropenones and phosphines for multicomponent, real-time imaging in live mammalian cells. (1/4) .
