Thanks David for promoting our work and for your kind words. I wish you had time to come to #fens2024 yourself. Here's a little evidence that your post worked 😁
After promoting the great people on our team presenting their poster at #FENSForum2024, let’s highlight a past member (very dear to me) who will share the cool work he did with @JAlGallego during his postdoc! Go listen to and talk with Mostafa!.

New paper out of @dav_robbe's lab: looking into the role of the striatum in vigour control in a self-paced foraging task which allows disentangling decision v. kinematic variables.
Very excited to share our latest work:. "Running Fast and Slow: The Dorsal Striatum Sets the Cost of Movement During Foraging". 4.5 years of hard work (behavior, theory, lesions) by Thomas Morvan, in collaboration with @EloyChristophe. A 🧵 1/n.

After living in the EU for 4 years, getting >5 EU visas over the last 3 years cause I live in the UK now, I just applied for another one to attend @FENSorg and the Austrian gov granted me a 8 day visa for a 7 day conf.
📢'The World Is Your Oyster' is for those who are born in global north countries--don't experience visa bureaucracy & emotional burden that non-white global south scholars do. Citizenship is a privilege that we need to recognize in the academe. 1/n .

A very cool study. Finding the sweet spot for running speed across species 👏👏.
New paper, hot off the press 🥳! Larger animals have longer limbs and are stronger-so why are the fastest runners of intermediate size? It's all to do with physical constraints on muscle, the prime mover. Collab w/ @cclemente4, @TaylorJMDick and P Bishop.

Very cool 😊.
“What our research managed to achieve, and why it arguably garnered attention, is that we identified the level at which these brains are similar, encapsulated in this concept of neural manifolds.” Full Q&A with Dr @JAlGallego (@imperialcollege):
