After three continuous months where wind was the backbone of UK electricity generation today it’s not windy so I can finally return to bashing wind power again.
In April, wind was or largest source of generation for the third consecutive month. 🌬 Great Britain broke two low carbon records last month on 5 April and 15 April 🏆 We also set a record for the lowest share of GB’s electricity being generated by fossil fuels at 2.4% ⚡🍃

Why am I doing that?
1. Because I don’t understand how they are used on the grid so I’m all confused.
2. Along with Solar they are going to wipe out more coal plants.
Utter madness.
Today, utility-scale batteries paired with solar PV are already competitive with new coal plants in some countries like India
In just the next few years, batteries + solar will be cheaper than new natural gas plants in the US & new coal in China 👉

How to misinterpret a graph.
The graph doesn’t show CO2 emissions but accumulated CO2 in the atmosphere.
This of course would be much higher if it wasn’t for actions agreed at successive COPs.
So my claim of no difference is a lie.
