No! Spain didn’t destroy flood-stopping dams! What was removed were small, obsolete weirs, not reservoirs and not in the flooded area, and they’re taken out to reduce flood risk, not cause it. It’s easier to lie about demolished dams than admit climate change is real.
Spain destroyed more than 256 dams between 2021 and 2022, "to restore the natural course of rivers", in order to comply with European Union Agenda 2030. Now when there are floods in Spain, they blame "climate change" the past few years. 🤡

Kathryn Porters predictions of blackouts in winter 2024. Lots of scare mongering lapped up by the right wing press, fossil shills and climate cranks. Of course they don’t happen or even get that close to happening.

The self-harm of European auto industry continues. Trying to turn your home market into a museum for last century cars means you might squeeze a few more years of revenue from them, but at the cost of obsolescence as consumers at home and in export markets vote with their feet.
"Unsurprisingly, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, the Stellantis Group and Renault all argued in favor of dropping ban, claiming that decisions should be led by customers rather than through legislation." EU has U-turned on its plan to ban sale of ICE cars 2035

We either need to do something urgently about the price of nuclear in GB or nuclear proponents need to wake up.
Is a UK power plant about to become more expensive than the International Space Station? Fun fact: The ISS is often called the most expensive object ever built, costing roughly $150b to design, launch, and operate for over 20 years. But the UK’s Hinkley Point C nuclear plant is

Lithium-ion battery pack prices have dropped 8% since 2024 to a record low of $108 per kilowatt-hour, according to our latest analysis. Continued cell manufacturing overcapacity, intense competition and the ongoing shift to lower-cost lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries have

Why do fossil fuel fans hate EVs? Because they are so efficient in comparison to ICE cars their adoption means rapid reduction in petrol & diesel demand. That primary fossil demand fossil fans brag about will disappear very fast as adoption speeds up 👍🏻 Cleaner air too😃

Some positive news on Chinas emissions. Let’s hope it’s sustained and we see real falls in the coming years.
After a big fall in coal-fired power generation in November, the CO2 emissions from China’s three largest emitting sectors - power, steel and cement - are almost certain to fall in 2025. Our detailed monthly snapshot on power generation, industry and air pollution in China 👇

European and US automakers need to sort themselves out and get making better and cheaper EVs. Otherwise history tells us they will be in trouble.
@KanaInagaki @FinancialTimes Automakers missing global trends inevitable suffer heavy consequences. The industry is littered with case studies. I fear the West is affording the Chinese the opportunity to leverage the world’s largest market (China) to refine EV technology and achieve unassailable

I can’t believe what I just heard from Montford and Net Zero Watch. “It maybe in 20 years time EVs will be better than petrol cars” 🤯 Their denial is astounding. EVs are already better than petrol cars. It’s not even close. 😂😂😂
Reacting to the news that the Tories have committed to scrapping the petrol car ban, our Director @aDissentient says this is clearly the beginning of the end for Net Zero.

Despite what some people try to tell you EV sales are doing well now on a global basis. The switch to EVs is inevitable. Better more efficient cleaner cars, more fun to drive and cheaper to fuel and run.

Beautifully put in response to two well known climate cranks trying to tell people climate change is a scam and there is no risk from AGW and human induced climate change. Richard Tice and Matt Ridley were the cranks who regularly lie to and mislead the public.
@TiceRichard @mattwridley @reformparty_uk The claim that climate change is “real but not existential” is a distraction. No serious scientist argues human extinction is the risk. The risk is systemic damage that compounds — and it’s already visible at ~1.3°C of warming. Measured reality, not panic: • Extreme heat events

Those tree hugging hippies in Hungary now lead the world in the share of electricity generated from solar with almost 25% of their electricity coming from solar in 2024. A remarkable leap from just 7% five years ago.

Brainwashed vile crank Alder’s next attention seeking crusade. He’s now spent the last 3 days attacking the NHS. Is there anything this crank doesn’t hate? Except fossil fuels that is.
