👋 Hello to our new followers!
It’s been a while since we’ve introduced ourselves, so we thought we should tell you a bit about who we are, what we do and the change we want to make. ⤵️ 💚
📣 Today, we’re sharing the grim news that the food banks in our network gave out 2.1 million food parcels to people facing hardship between April 2021 and March 2022.
830,000 of these were given to children.
This is shocking. ⬇️
Thank you so much
@LiamPayne
for helping your local
@eustonfoodbank
yesterday. We’re stronger together and your support will help us work towards a future where
#foodbanks
are no longer needed 💚>
🧵 Millions of people across the UK, like Amanda, Kevin and Matt, are facing hunger.
Despite living in one of the wealthiest countries in the world, 1 in 7 people in the UK face hunger due to a lack of money.
But it doesn’t have to be this way for anyone.
A huge thank you to
@LiamPayne
for this amazing support - he's helping
#foodbanks
in our network provide 360,000 meals to people in crisis during the
#covid19
outbreak! Read more here
@fesshole
We're glad the food bank was able to help you and, as everyone else has said, you have nothing to be ashamed of. 💚
What's unacceptable is that hundreds of thousands of people in the UK can't afford essential items and are being forced to food banks, in a wealthy country.
Martin, who is unable to work due to a disability, is worried about the
#CostOfLivingCrisis
He's not alone. 66% of households referred to a food bank in early 2020 included one or more disabled people.
This isn't right. Everyone deserves to afford the essentials. 💚
On

we want to be clear. Hunger in the UK isn’t about food. And
