Anyway if you’re in Matsue, highly recommend eating at Magnolia! It’s a cute little place with omakase dinner. The owner even made onigiri in different sizes for me and @TonsOfFun111 which was so adorable lol.

You know I love agentic coding but damn I just did a few hours of greenfield Rails dev by hand (with an agent only open as a “google” replacement) and Rails is still so satisfying to use even after all these years It just DOES NOT GET IN THE WAY OF MY IDEA. Love it

🐛 I spent 3 days debugging an issue where a Ruby Hash became a String at runtime🤯 Not corrupted. Not misaligned. Literally transformed into a different object.💀 Here's a write-up on how this happened and how I approached the issue: https://t.co/4y7KBshBnN

An "impossible" Ruby bug: Hashes becoming Strings at runtime. 2,700 identical crashes. No corruption. Just objects changing what they are. Deep dive.

One of my gigs two years back, I discovered puma_worker_killer was doing the same thing. The process would serve one request, go over the memory limit, get nuked. I turned it off and latency instantly dropped by half. Process restart count? Unobserved, of course.
@nateberkopec Recently set up node exporter and saw this pattern in the cpu usage Turns out the server kept restarting every few minutes because it ran out of memory, using lots of cpu to do so I simply increased the memory limit and the problem went away
