I’ve reached 7 decades of life, I never thought I’d make it this far, but until the Creator retires me, I’ll be advocating for First Nation communities to get out the Indian Act on their own terms NOT Canada’s “Self-Gov’t & “Land Claims” Termination Framework! #NoWhitePaper2

Good moment to remember that the US has imposed crushing unilateral sanctions on Venezuela since 2017, with the objective of strangling the economy. The sanctions killed 40,000 people in the first year.

Selling "surplus" schools in Ottawa and Toronto, where real estate is the most valuable, is shockingly bald-faced. @fordnation doesn't see Ontario as constituents, but as parcels of land to gift to insiders — and it's kids who are going to lose big in this short-sighted scheme.

Parents, critics are on edge as the Ford government launches a review of “surplus” school properties to “ensure resources are directed back into classrooms.” One parent tells us she’s suspicious of the education minister’s intentions: “the land in toronto is very very valuable”

My submission to the Senate Committee studying the misuse of s. 107 of Canada Labour Code to crush the Charter right to strike: https://t.co/JXEOi31Pai In Brief: Stop it. It's an entirely inappropriate & undemocratic use of a statutory provision never intended for this purpose.

Bill 60 puts tenants in jeopardy! Cutting LTB appeal deadline in half & dismissing valid appeals = more unlawful evictions. Tenants need protection, not a highway to homelessness!  #TenantsRights #FordNation #HousingCrisis #ONpoli #YSW #StandWithTenants

LTB Review Hearings are appeals to stop unlawful eviction orders. Bill 60 cuts the filing deadline from 30 to 15 days. LTB practice is to refuse to process many meritorious appeals, saying that insufficient evidence and law were filed. (In court these are filed later.) This

Bill 60 is outrageous in a province already inundated with mass homelessness. It further limits justice for tenants at the LTB, expedites evictions for non-payment, and further incentivizes Landlord's Own Use evictions by slashing compensation to tenants.
