A year ago today Farage and his partner bought a house in Clacton, in cash, worth £885,000. Nigel told the world he bought it, but when it transpired he didn't pay enough stamp duty (he owns 4 other properties) they said his partner paid and he had lied. However, she does not

George Monbiot - "We should never underestimate the extent to which the BBC changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage, other far right extremists and the Tufton Street junktanks, while shutting out progressive voices."

The BBC belongs to all of us, and it is under attack as never before. The government must defend it from its enemies, within and without, says Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey

Nowhere in the hysterical pile-on against the BBC in the British press has anyone mentioned that BBC News now has 77 million viewers & listeners in the US and has established itself as the second most trusted news source there.

What has happened...what is happening at the BBC? In normal times you might be forgiven for dismissing that question as naval gazing by journalists who can't resist talking about themselves. In normal times I'd be inclined to agree with you. These, though, are not normal times.

I've always felt that Johnson and Farage put self-interest over the national interest - hence their dallying with Putin and his oligarchs. But directly colluding with a foreign government to take down the BBC feels like an act of supreme treachery

Donald Trump in the US pardons scores of supporters for their roles in his plot to steal the 2020 election from Joe Biden and the scandal in Britain is a bad edit in a BBC hour-long programme on that attempted coup. Get a grip, people! https://t.co/LniFRP1NTK

I did NOT expect to be punching the air and going "HELL YES!" to Chris Patten. But what he says is SO rarely said and needed saying SO badly! "How shall we treat Mr Farage's concerns? Shall we hail Brexit a tremendous success? Something that has cost the country billions?"
SUPERB and angrily unvarnished response, by former BBC chairman, Lord Patten. "I don't think that we should allow ourselves to be bullied into thinking that the BBC is only any good, if it reflects the prejudice of the last person who shouted at it." ~AA

Ed Davey. A figure who’d be WHOLLY justified at having the ARSE with the Beeb (just look at their coverage of Lib Dem’s vs TurquoiseTories!) comes out fighting for it. He knows it exists for the greater good. Ed has principles. Ed is patriotic. Ed has a backbone. Be more Ed! #BBC
The BBC isn't perfect, but it belongs to Britain not Trump. Political leaders across the UK must unite in defending its independence from the White House.

Who has forgotten about Nigel Farage and his £885,000 Clacton House?? Who paid? Where did the money come from did he pay tax? Was it from the EU fraud? Was it from Russia? Still unanswered 🤔 If he were a female labour MP the press would be all over him.

Trump wants to destroy the BBC and take our money. And Nigel Farage is egging him on. All true patriots should tell them both: hands off our BBC.

Across the world, the BBC is recognised as the best source of impartial news reporting. It's not perfect, because nothing made by people ever is. However, in these days of deliberate lies, manipulation & populism, it's a beacon of truth. Britain should be proud of it. And we are

Garry Kasparov unleashes the truth: putin’s war is pure survival, not strategy. Garry Kasparov nails it: putin isn't some rational leader. He's a dictator obsessed with staying in power for 25 years and counting. This war? It's his life support, infecting every part of Russia.
