This. Many of the issues faced by myself, my friends, and my colleagues is not because of 'science'. It's because of the systemic issues within academia: job insecurity, low wages, lack of jobs, rampant bullying, and toxic work environments.
we’re not quitting science, we’re quitting academia. I am still very much in science and will remain here forever

I really struggled to make the transition to blue sky and start again, I just don't feel like it's worth the effort. I found the loss of community here really sad, but have found it hard to leave even though my feed is a unpleasant experience. Weird.
There are now papers showing that the migration of academic communities from Twitter to other social media sites mostly failed. But they never fully returned to Twitter either. I wonder if we will ever see so many different communities interacting in the same online space again.

As a Palaeontologist I strongly believe that the Jurassic Park/World movies should all be deleted from existence, then remade to be historically accurate.
