"I can't offer a higher pay increase" Please don't take us for fools. Every health sec before you said these words before magically making a better offer later. I posted my YES vote for IA today before starting my shift because we deserve better. The country deserves better.
Reality: I met twice with Resident Doctors in May and at the last meeting I offered to meet their entire committee. I canât offer a higher pay increase: resident doctors have the highest pay award in the entire public sector. These are not grounds that warrant strike action.

The first two aims of the doctors pay review body when founded are they helping avoiding strikes and avoiding government suppression of pay? 1/2

I just want to put it on record that I had a clinic today which wasn't overbooked. I had enough time for all of the patients. No one waited. It was lovely.

I bet all the money in my pockets against all the money in your pockets, that Tim would want a doctor for him or one of his loved ones who had a serious health condition / needed medical attention. Whatever he may say online, deep down I know it, you know it and he knows it. đ¤ˇđťââď¸
If PAs turned out to work then we'd need fewer doctors. Doctors' union doesn't like PAs. We are surprised, right?

@ShaunLintern @wesstreeting @BMAResidents Hi Shaun, I know you don't write the headlines, and Ive raised these issues before, but does the deadline reflect a quote from the two interviewed people? Specifically did they say "We'll bring the NHS to a standstill"? That doesn't seem to be reflected in the article which

Misleading headlines, the disrespect of calling resident doctors 'junior' after I directly and specifically asked @ShaunLintern to refer to us by our proper title. Once again, no one is surprised. This is the level of journalism we have come to expect. Pitiful.
Front page of the @thetimes @ShaunLintern except the headline is COMPLETELY fabricated. As confirmed by both of the interviewees @RossNieuwoudt @Melissa_S_Ryan (& admitted by @ShaunLintern) they (nor @TheBMA) did NOT threaten to "bring the NHS to a standstill". RT if you agree

@goldstone_tony @ShaunLintern @wesstreeting @BMAResidents Not a quote. These are not words that were said. No one is surprised

Drs are still paying the price 17 years later. âTaxpayers sell NatWest at ÂŁ10B lossâ. Weâre still funding Austerity 1.0 while being asked to pay for Austerity 2.0 https://t.co/nEfOUFPpUz

@DLGDen Den @DLGDen you are so correct @BMAResidents @BMA_James_Steen @trentconsultant @HCSANews Not a resident doctor but I know the results my generations reluctance to strike. Jam tomorrow that never came / 29% salary plummet / yes that is why we are here today. Do better vote yes đ

Resident doctors vote YES to strike action to let the government know you are not willing to settle for a derisory pay offer on the back of significant pay erosion. Wes streeting said pay restoration is a journey - time to take the next step.
"The stronger the turnout, the stronger our mandate. A majority must vote YES for us to take strike action... and you absolutely should vote YES" The ballot for industrial action for resident doctors in England is OPEN! https://t.co/x6dUubNcEn

Excellent advice from @wesstreeting, in opposition & to give credit where due, he did pull out the stops to bring last dispute to a speedy resolution. But then he promised a âjourneyâ What Iâve seen so far on the table ISNT a journey. Get round the table & get this resolved
Rishi Sunak and Steve Barclay didnât lift a finger to prevent todayâs strikes, despite the obvious risks to the public. They drove NHS staff to strike, refused to negotiate, and now pose as helpless bystanders. Patients will be in no doubt who is to blame for this chaos.

If you asked yourself why 'the BMA' let pay fall so far behind look at this graph. Despite promises of pay restoration being a journey the train's in reverse. We are *all* responsible for standing together to restore pay pension value for all. Webinars to follow, attend one!

Fully qualified doctors are earning just ÂŁ17/hr. Thatâs after a gruelling 5-6 year medical degree, ÂŁ100,000 of debt, and 48-hour working weeks on the frontline of the NHS. Theyâre asking for ÂŁ22/hr. Still below market rate. Still fair. But @wesstreeting canât even be bothered

A 4% pay uplift, less than current inflation, is an insult to doctors in England. This Government has shown it simply doesnât value doctors.  âThe DDRB has failed doctors. If this is the best they can do, government needs to think again.â says @DrPhilBanfield  This âawardâ
