Zohran wants to freeze rents on 2M units, a well-intentioned but absolutely terrible idea that could erase what makes NYC special. Bombay is a cautionary tale. Rent was frozen in 1949, and today, those neighborhoods have almost no functioning rental market. Only the ultra-rich.
