Knowsley’s very own Anneliese Midgely MP setting her stall on what she wants to see improved and what she values in Knowsley. It is an honour to be on her roll call of local leaders making a difference!
Last week I gave my maiden speech in Parliament. It is a privilege to represent the place where I was born and raised, which made me who I am. Knowsley is my priority. I will work as hard as I can and do my best for you.

The police recorded 889,918 domestic abuse-related crimes in the year ending March 2023, thats 1 in 5 crimes. Domestic abuse is rife in our communities, the economic and social costs were £78 billion in 2023. It's time to make a change. #stopdomesticabuse #thefirststep

The First Step & the specialist VAWG sector in Merseyside have commissioned the Femicide Census to review Merseyside’s increasing numbers of women and girls killed as a result of male violence. We cannot expect anything to change without addressing the issue.

'The Sisterhood' was written by survivors that attended our #IWD2024 coffee morning. The survivors worked together, each creating a line until the feelings evoked by the sisterhood was summed up.

"At least half of the names I'm about to read out out could have been saved." This is heartbreaking & utterly unacceptable. Thank you @jessphillips for continuously speaking out to help women and children. We must see systemic change to achieve a society where all women are safe.
"I am tired of fighting for systematic change and being given table scraps" Labour MP Jess Phillips reads the names of the women killed as a result of violence over the past year https://t.co/3N5eLpcFwm

Group Programmes - You and Me, Mum. We offer this programme throughout the year with survivors saying "I can look back and see how far I have actually come. I feel more confident going forward with my two children and see good in our future"

New #VAWGSnapshot from @EVAWuk shows public trust in the police and other public services is unacceptably low. We need concerted action and investment from national government to deliver on their priority of tackling #VAWG, including domestic abuse. https://t.co/WJg4X7MDRN

In this digital age, abuse can extend beyond physical spaces. As reliance on tech grows, so does the potential for misuse & manipulation. Our Survivors’ Handbook contains support for women experiencing abuse: https://t.co/MQQ20fAUx9
