And now we are at 100%. 🎉 5 minutes, 3-4 times a week, for about 3 weeks, using objects/pictures and game format. Every Year 1 student can automatically isolate first sounds - a good sign that no one will be at risk on this measure when screened with Acadience in September!
Year 1 (PreK) students at benchmark for phonemic awareness: Beginning of year: 43% Middle of year: 89% This was just with Tier 1, whole group phonics instruction. Ongoing now: targeted small group instruction to close gaps for the few students who didn’t meet benchmark.
