Today, it is never more clear that the English education system is being systematically deconstructed by an ideologically driven govt. The way to create equity and opportunity for our most disadv. stds is not to remove curriculum opportunity for them. Thatโ€™s the road ahead.

Why do the Cambridge Physics Centre Lectures continue to be in-person events only? During Covid they were also online and I am sure they were appreciated by many, who don't live close to Cambridge. They are given in the new Ray Dolby Centre so surely technology isn't an issue?๐Ÿ˜•

It is so easy to be wrong โ€“ and to persist in being wrong โ€“ when the costs of being wrong are paid by others.โ€ Thomas Sowellโ€™s line could be the motto of English education. Policy-makers get plaudits; teachers get the blame; children pay the bill. Link below

As we await the Curriculum and Assessment Review, one thing is certain: it will likely seek to undo the progress achieved over the past decade. We can expect to hear all the familiar buzzwords drawn from the progressive playbook. Like many of the initiatives and policy

The BBC has run a motability puff piece. The article is wholly bias and they dont even see it. They dont ask why 40% of new car sales are via motability in NI. They dont investigate, why people are suspicious of fraud, and the widespread use of cars for taxi firms. This is

School culture is taught, not caught. At Longdendale we intentionally model and explicitly teach our core values of respect, resilience and aspiration. Our operation reset at the beginning of each half term is an important landmark during the academy year to remind students of

Once again I find myself frustrated by ridiculous education proposals. Now it's "GCSE triple science for all" from @bphillipsonMP. How many physics teachers will we need? And how many have been recruited in the last 3 years? Absolute nonsense once again...

@BBCBreakfast please ask @bphillipsonMP why we need yet another new vocational qualification at level 3? We have Level 3 BTEC Extended Certificates which are perfectly good. We're introducing AAQs as their replacement, which are fine. Why do we need another change?

LLMs are injective and invertible. In our new paper, we show that different prompts always map to different embeddings, and this property can be used to recover input tokens from individual embeddings in latent space. (1/6)

Using a proprietary โ€˜Zoom and ENHANCEโ€™ feature for blurry plates built into the yet-to-be-released V6.0 update of the Motability Checker, I can confirm that this car is, in fact, unsurprisingly, a Motability. More recklessness underwritten by the taxpayer.

Great thread about why isolation booths are necessary in schools๐Ÿ‘‡ It is a no brainer for me. Isolation booths reduce permanent and temporary exclusions AND they ensure the teacher can teach and the kids can learn. What on earth is the problem?

A thread about Isolation and Booths... We have almost 900 students at our school. We serve the two most deprived wards in our town. Over 50% of the school population are eligible for Pupil Premium. Our cohorts are predominantly white British.

Every child deserves a classroom that is safe, calm and dignified, where they can learn. The point of removing a student who is abusive or disrupting a lesson is two-fold: 1. That student is demonstrating that theyโ€™re unwilling or unable to help create that environment, so they
