Huge thanks to @nynjtc crew for their hard work to help us improve and formalize trails at our (not-yet-open) Buttonbush Preserve this week. We are making great progress toward getting this preserve ready to be open to the public soon—stay tuned for updates!

If you’re staring at a screen all day, experts recommend the 20-20-20 rule to avoid eye strain. After 20 minutes of work, look at something 20 feet away, then spend 20 years in the forest.

To access the views along Breakneck Ridge during the closure, hikers will need to follow an alternate route such as the Wilkinson to the newly-built Nimham Trail. Or via the Cornish/Brook/Undercliff Bypass/Undefcliff trails from the Washburn parking lot.

⚠️ The Breakneck Ridge trailhead will be closed starting March 1st for work to relocate the trailhead farther up the ridge, eventually to be connected via a bridge over the Metro-North Tracks. Work will include installing stone steps and constructing a new trail steward station.
