She really seems more upset at the Republicans for not releasing the texts sooner than she is with her running mate for wishing death upon them and their kids.
BRUTAL Debate moderator has to follow up repeatedly for TWO MINUTES to get Abigail Spanberger to say whether she still endorses Jay Jones. "We are all running our individual races"

Whoa. The Senate just adopted Tim Kaines amendment to the NDAA to repeal the 2002 Iraq War AUMF and the 1991 Gulf War authorization *by voice vote*. Opponents, like Armed Services Chair Roger Wicker, didn't want a roll call. "I think I see how the wind is blowing," Wicker says.

Repealing the Iraq AUMFs is long overdue. Doing so would not impact ongoing military operations and would be Congress’ first repeal of an obsolete war authorization since Vietnam. Both Houses have previously voted to do this with bipartisan support. It’s time to finish the job.
Congress must take action to end outdated authorizations for war. Senate Amendment 3337 would end the Iraq War authorizations of 1991 and 2002 that are long past. We urge Congress to get the job done. Americans’ voices must be heard on matters of war.

"The monks of Lindisfarne rejected violence in their dedication to the life to come. But the Vikings who laid their world to waste prayed to different gods." My piece in @TheCriticMag, making the case for Realism in international politics. Book now out!

War is a great teacher. Previously, we have heralded Ukraine’s adaptability and innovation. However, learning happens on both sides. We appear to be teaching Russia—and not just Russia—how better to evade Patriots. This will matter outside Ukraine.

We used to be able to build quickly in normal situations. Then we were only able to build in emergency situations (because it gave leaders the courage to cut through red tape). Now we can’t build at all.

Russia is neither a paper tiger nor a candidate for hegemony in Europe. The closer you get to its border, the more dangerous it is. It has shown an ability to hold Ukrainian territory within ~100 miles of its border. The further its LOCs are stretched, the less capable it is.

Hillary did not defend free speech when that speech was a cable TV movie about her set to air right before the 2008 Democratic primary It was banned and became the landmark free speech case Citizens United.
In America, we defend free speech in terrible times. We defend free speech even when it’s offensive. We defend free speech.

Statements like this are wrong. Americans are not at war against each other. What we’re up against is a scary + rising minority of violent lunatics fueled by hate and division. But they do not speak for anywhere near the majority of our population. We cannot act like they do.
