INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND NEWS DUMP: Iām told #NIU is expecting to pocket $5 million a year from the soon to be announced Mountain West media deal. Assuming NIU is getting the usual 80-85% media football only share, that would push the number to closer to $6 mil for full members.

Nice summary of the ACC settlement that provides a bridge to the ACCs future self.
Sitting in the sun sipping a drink and reading the FSU ACC settlement docs. A few thoughts. 1. Itās clearly for a short term relationship. We knew it aleady but unless things collapse and FSU has no landing spot, 31 is latest FSU is there. 2. The doc is tight. Gives FSU.

PAC-12's Gould Comments on the Impact of the Mediation with Mountain West. "The mediation does not impact our strategy around media rights, around membership. It doesn't have a direct impact on anything else that we are doing". An interesting comment considering the $ involved.

PAC-12 Noncommittal Regarding Additional Members. Comm. Gould took many questions surrounding PAC membership from Wilner & Canzano. She was pretty clear that the PAC-12 has NO timeline or deadline and stated the PAC-12 wants to remain flexible and ensure any addition adds value.

MWC media should be known fairly soon (weeks not months).The bigger issue right now is the new D1 governance. The MWC will not invite any FCS program until that is finalized and fully shakes out. Plus, the Mountain West is in no rush. They have the membership needed as of 7/1/26.
AD Matt Larson addresses the MW adding teams:. "Most recently with the Mountain West, I think they're trying to figure out, again, finalize their media rights valuation. What does it mean to each institution? Because that's the first question any new member is going to ask them. .

I am glad they are saying it because it is very obvious. And I am not a WNBA guy in any way. That's how obvious it is, IMO.
Dick Vitale, Colin Cowherd, and others are accusing other WNBA players of jealousy. Vitale tells FOS he perceives "lots of jealousy" from other WNBA players toward Clark.

NDSU is Seriously Considering a Move to FBS. Comments from NDSU HC Polasek indicate the decision to opt in to the House Settlement had two major factors:.1. Roster Size & Scholarships.2. Conference Realignment. NDSU to FBS smoke is growing.MWC & Bison fans stay vigilant.#GoBison.
Tim Polasek seems to hint at FBS talks after the Monday press conference about NDSU opting in: "The good news is that we've had conversations. I would consider two major conversations with opting in when there was a little bit of noise about conference realignment, moving up. ā¬ļø.
