Visited Skardu for the first time. Great place, but very few local products. All products are from downstream areas (Punjab and Sindh) or China. Only hotels are thriving. Local industry should develop with a focus on organic products if we actually want tourism to flourish.

KP-PDMA has issued a warning for people downstream to stay away from the banks of the Indus River ahead of the Tarbela Dam’s spillways being opened today.

On Swat floods, a 63-page report submitted by the Provincial Inspection Team (PIT) said weather advisories issued by KP-PDMA (PDMA) and district administration “were not effectively implemented”, and a lack of coordination among govt deptts.
