Sometimes antibiotics are present in clinical samples, inhibiting bacteria growth. Here a patient was treated with piperacillin-tazobactam for pyelonephritis: Proteus mirabilis only grows when the concentration of antibiotics sufficiently decreases. #IDTwitter #ASMClinMicro

Cluster of B. cepacia complex bacteraemias nationally. Identified by PHE at first as B. aenigmatica, but on review by an ‘international expert,’ revised to B. contaminans.
