The improvement in technique and movement patterns of incoming freshman over the past 15 years has been incredible. Highschool strength and conditioning and private strength coaches deserve a ton more credit than they get. Every year they are better prepared than the last.

The 1x20 Strength Training Program is one most of you haven’t heard of, & it’s normally misunderstood. After researching & trying 1x20 personally, I now agree it’s perfect for beginners, youth, older (like me), busy professionals (also me), & return to play. (Thread)

At 17, I thought I needed a more cutting-edge program... when what I needed was more focus on the fundamentals. At 28, I thought my team needed a more advanced program... when I needed to get better at teaching the fundamentals. At 37, Fundamentals over fluff.

@DigginTakes I’ve always said… Kids should play multiple sports and kids should be allowed to be kids. I’m not against advanced leagues, better competition, etc. But no kid should be playing one sport all year & no kid should be training “like a pro” until at least HS. They’re kids.
