Please lmk if I’m misunderstanding bc I totally could be (not a business/econ person at all) but this seems like a decent, reasonable, and necessary change to me.

Not to mention that this plan is supposed to bring in an additional $275 billion in revenue, which is simply incredible considering it doesn’t effect the average American one bit.

So, in short, the only people the new tax plan will effect are those who keep more than $10 million dollars completely for themselves every year. If you make more than $10 million but invest the excess, donate it to charity, etc, then it won’t effect you at all.

What if, contrary to the common conservative message, increasing income tax on the wealthy actually bolstered the economy because they would have a higher incentive to reinvest rather than to keep the money to themselves?.

Now here’s an interesting theory: investing income allows you to write that income off. So, if very wealthy corporate types have to choose between giving money to the gov. and reinvesting it (so that they can write it off), which do you think they will choose?.

It’s also important to acknowledge that this is income after write offs, which for someone making that much money will often be quite substantial. So it’s not just $10 million, it’s $10 million after write offs.

IF you earn more than $10 million, then you will be taxed 70% on income BEYOND $10 million. So look, if you earn $11 million, you will be taxed a total of $2.7 million (20% for 10 million, and 70% for 1 million).

Current tax brackets:.$0-40,000 pay 0%.$40,000-435,000 pay 15%.$435,000-unimaginably wealthy pay 20% . Proposed change: .$0-40,000 pay 0%.$40,000-435,000 pay 15%.$435,000-10,000,000 pay 20%. new tax bracket for multimillionaires/billionaires/etc.
