Golf is the greatest game, but it's just a game.

Amateur, a person who engages in a sport on an unpaid rather than a paid basis. Amateurs perform on revenue producing broadcasts regularly. The monetization of amateurs makes them professionals. College athletes receiving $ are professionals. If true the donors can step back.
In how many other revenue-generating opportunities in America does the federal government step in to limit earning ability?.

Sad day an equipment manufacturer/Ping sues the governing and ruling force of a game. Karsten did a lot for the golf. His misunderstanding/manipulation of its rules helped create today’s distance mania.
1st time I’ve hit copper berillium eye2s in 20 plus years. If they were legal today they’d still and always will be the best irons ever made. @PingTour #sopure

Politely disagree. We have seen the damage of “the Tours” attempt to control(pay)the players, beginning with LIV and spilling over into the PGA Tour. The capitalism of golf is being replaced by a more socialist model. The golf fan is making it known this model has less appeal.
Maybe a combination of some players contracted and others to play for prize money. The better you play the more chance of contract. The goal is for the Tours to control their product more.

Mel is making the assumption the PGA Tour knows what they are doing with course setups? Big assumption when “flyover” driver distances are 300+ yards. LPGA driver-7 iron 260+150=410. PGA Tour driver-7 iron 300+180=480. Basically 18-20% difference. Blame the USGA.
Mel Reid is clearly a very talented and persuasive commentator, but I don't really get her argument here. Why use the PGA Tour as a barometer for what scoring averages, course length, and course setup on the LPGA Tour should be?.

Who is there to help the donors decide if “investing” in college athletes is worthwhile? Those who helped the student/athlete got their returns through the notion of helping those who needed it, charity. Buying wins carries less emotional weight and will continue to escalate. IMO.
Another school hires a former NFL team executive to help it manage athlete payments. More evidence of college sports moving to full professionalization.

And how much do the attorneys receive? Let’s throw the agents in too. The monetizing of college sports doesn’t just “benefit” the athletes.
UMass plans to pay its athletes $5-6M in 2025-25. Over $2M will go to 🏈 . Men’s 🏀 will get around $800k. 🏒 will get around $250k. Women’s 🏀 will get around $250k. And six other women’s sports will receive the rest: 🥎, 🏑, ⚽️ ,🥍 , 🚣, and 🎾.

Footwork is creating space for arms to swing freely and his head stays steady throughout downswing.
Little Scotty from yesterday. So many moving parts that he coordinates so well💪🏼👌🏼Not sure there’s been a player in history with such ankle and foot work working so hard to create the launch conditions for the club, a true athlete/artist at work 👌🏼🇺🇸💪🏼

While serving our country in WW2 winning 2 Purple Hearts and 2 Bronze Stars in the middle of his golf career.
The legendary Lloyd Mangrum -. War hero and another one who features in my list of underrated and understated golfers. He won the 1946 U.S. Open, was runner-up in three other majors and 3rd in six more.

Couldn’t agree more!.
At ISPS HANDA we recognise the #PowerOfSport and the importance it has in peoples’ lives. Whilst in attendance at the Golf Writers Association of America awards, ISPS HANDA patron Enda Kenny reflected on this and why sport can change lives for the better 🗣️ . #TheMasters

Let’s see with 5 logos showing you would think he has the talent to hit this shot, plus his ball is in the front of the divot, Childs play!.
I'm sorry, but having to hit out of a divot like this is so dumb. You've striped your drive into the middle of the fairway. Having to hit out of this massive divot isn't fair. Should be a free drop from ground under repair. Players get free relief for far less
