The men's game has huge problems with the imbalance between the player and the course right now! Why would the women's game want to emulate that? It can be *better* than that.

Mel Reid is clearly a very talented and persuasive commentator, but I don't really get her argument here. Why use the PGA Tour as a barometer for what scoring averages, course length, and course setup on the LPGA Tour should be?.
.@melreidgolf is really good. Hope she gets more and more involved in TV, mens or women’s. And the comments agreeing with what she says include ALOT of players that were in the field.

I've had a lot of highs and lows while practicing my golf swing indoors. I made a mistake. I'm very sorry for destroying our television. But I'd also like to move on, not only for myself but for the television, and for the members of my family who enjoyed using it.
I'm not sure Oakmont is ready to move on or if it's up to Wyndham that they do.

Adam Schefter will make his debut as a golf reporter this week. Schefter will report on-course covering Rory McIlroy and Keegan Bradley's group Thursday at the Travelers Championship on ESPN+.

Huge co-sign. Strokes Gained has started to represent absolute reality in golf debates. The discussion is over as soon as someone cites an SG stat. It should be a tool, not the be-all and end-all.
Amazes me how much of a crutch Strokes Gained has become for the golf punditry. Instead of watching or tracking rounds, and giving insight, it's just "gained a shot off the tee on Sunday" which is basically meaningless.

P.S. Just because Oakmont is difficult doesn't mean it completely lacks strategic options. Last week, I wrote about the variety of tactics we saw on 2 and 7. On 2: On 7: Cool stuff that got drowned out by the rough discourse.
