I'm deeply concerned to learn Hampshire's Police & Crime Commissioner believes the rioters vandalising our streets and attacking mosques are motivated by "the need to uphold British values." These extreme views make her totally unsuitable to hold this position of responsibility

The Liberal Democrats will keep pushing to scrap the two-child benefit cap that keeps families in poverty. Because every child deserves a fair chance to fulfil their potential.

Political violence is wrong. I am shocked to wake up to these awful scenes from Pennsylvania and my thoughts are with the victims and their families. We must all condemn this appalling attempt on Donald Trump’s life.

On July 4th the Lib Dems gutted the Conservatives in their prosperous heartlands across southern England, cantering to victory in seats such as Maidenhead. The electoral consequences were that they gained 61 seats almost entirely from the Conservatives

Disgusting, disreputable, degrading the role of directors in UK company law. @LibDems asked for a vote to replace @Ofwat with teeth to make water companies operate for public good. @UKLabour calls in Chief Execs. Regulator acts hours earlier than new Environment Minister can.
astonishing that the Thames Water chief executive got a £195,000 bonus bonus for *three months" of work, even as the company struggles to avoid nationalisation https://t.co/NoytfvVM7N via @ft

A week on from the General Election, it's time for us to say a big thank you to many people, but most of all we must say thank you to everybody in Slough who voted for us. #GE2024 #LibDems #ChooseYourFuture #ThisTimeImVoting

Any insulting price hikes by water companies must be blocked. It is a national scandal that these disgraced firms are demanding more money from families and pensioners in a cost of living crisis, all while dumping raw sewage into our rivers. https://t.co/7FUQfwbva4

More than 400,000 people may have been prevented from voting in the general election because they lacked the necessary ID, with those from minority ethnic communities more than twice as likely to have experienced this, polling has suggested. https://t.co/XNvBPJyaF3

We won’t be playing party political games. It is time for proper, cross-party talks on social care funding, where tough but essential decisions are needed. We will also make sure that carers cannot be forgotten again by people in power.

The MP with the biggest personal mandate is Tim Farron for the Liberal Democrats who received 31,061 votes on 62.7% of the vote. This is a stark contrast to 2019 where plenty of candidates were (under new boundaries) getting 30k plus votes quite often.
