I loved Raya - it is one of my favourite films! Encanto became popular on Disney+ but struggled in theatres. I gather people were waiting for Disney+ in that particular situation

I have a Law degree so I know quite a fair bit about politics. I have lost count of the amount of YouTube comments of people on the right claiming they never will see a Disney movie again because they are ‘woke’. I think it is a factor in this even if it isn’t the main reason.

I am so over the narrative that Disney doesn't create original content anymore because it is a lie. Disney Animations latest 4 films (Raya and the Last Dragon, Encanto, Strange World and Wish) were all original. People need to do a Google search before making false statements.

is a gorgeous romance! I ship Ember and Wade so hard and I adored seeing their love story unfold! It is also a moving illustration of the struggles of Immigrants moving to a new country. Highly recommend!

I just want to make clear that when I say ‘quality’ I’m not talking about my personal opinion. I am talking about critic and audience scores. For example, I don’t like Luca. However, I would consider it in the quality camp because most disagree with me.

I strongly encourage you to go see the movie. It’s a lot deeper and nuanced than the trailers indicate. It doesn’t remind me of Zootopia at all.

I think a lot of people don’t realise that the King erases a persons memory of their wish. That is the problem. The person doesn’t get the opportunity to work hard and make their wish happen on their own.

and it was absolutely FLAWLESS! I cannot recommend this movie enough and you have to see it in theatres ASAP. The music was catchy, the animation was stunning and the writing was so well done giving every single character a satisfying story arc.

What a garbage take. Barbie land was causing pain to Ken - demonstrating that a society only run by women is just as bad as a society only run by men. The line 'you failed me' from Ken made this VERY clear. The message was both genders should work together. EQUALITY!

I am seeing tons of discussion online saying that King Magnifico is right because all wishes can't be granted. The issue is that a person has their memory wiped once they hand over their wish to the King. This prevents them from making the wish happen through their own hard work.

I don’t think the answer is to delete all messages from Disney films. It is more about making sure you choose messages that are universally relatable so that you appeal to a wide audience. Frozen had a great message about the importance of sisterhood - very universal ❄️
Bob Iger says creators at Disney have lost sight of what their jobs should be, entertain first, not messages.
He adds that stories infused with “positive messages for the world” can be great but that it shouldn’t be the primary job.

Question: Why didn't you just boycott Strange World? There are plenty of recent Disney movies without gay characters - why not see those movies? I have nothing against gay characters in movies myself but if I were you I just wouldn't see certain movies not all of them.

I'm starting to get concerned about the 2024 Walt Disney Animation Studios movie. Obviously Disney won't tell the press the title because it hasn't been announced - but why wouldn't they include it and call it an 'Untitled Disney Animation' film like they have previously?
Update: Disney has issued a press release featuring its major releases for 2024, and this film was not included.

The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and I was really impressed! I loved the book because of the world building and seeing a version of this story not from Snow’s POV added even more layers to the story. It’s a must watch if you are a Hunger Games fan ❤️

Story time. So my Nanna had a fall causing a brain bleed outside her house. She lives next to a bus stop and an express way and was screaming for help for 5 hours before I found her. The chances of nobody hearing her was low. It really makes me lose hope in humanity 😢
