We haven't built enough social rent homes for decades. These genuinely affordable homes are desperately needed to fix the housing emergency we all face. As a society we have a responsibility to make sure everyone has a safe place to call home:

If we want to curb spiralling homelessness and increasing housing costs in London, developers must build their fair share of genuinely affordable social homes to get people out of temporary accommodation and into safe, secure, and affordable homes. #BuildSocialHousing🏠

With over 94,000 children in temporary accommodation in London, the need for social homes has never been more urgent. It's worrying to see developers are pushing to water down affordable housing requirements.

90% of social homes are allocated to British nationals. Eligibility for social housing is already restricted, and even those who have access often can't get one. That's why there's 1.3million households on the social housing waiting list.
