On Tuesday, 20th October, security forces opened fire on peaceful protesters and 12 people were killed. As a committee we are devastated by these events and we wish protesters’ pleas were met with substantial change and not force.

SARS was formed in 1992 to combat violent crime, including car jackings and armed robbery. However, this unit has been implicated in widespread human rights abuses, extrajudicial killings, torture, arbitrary arrests, unlawful detention and extortion.

#EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality #EndBadGoveranceInNigeria On the 20th of October 2020, the Nigerian government ordered army tanks to shoot at peaceful protestors who were protesting against the constant police brutality faced by Nigerian citizens.

“We just felt one day we needed to appreciate our natural hair together” Came across this and I couldn’t stop smiling. A group of black girls from Brampton Manor Sixth Form wore their natural hair together for World Afro day and raise money for @BGBUK_ 🥺 ✨
