these bills are the most obvious trojan horse type scam ever conceived of in order to continue to expand the surveillance state until there is literally nowhere to go to be able to live a normal private life.. and not enough ppl care enough to realize it needa be stopped ASAP
So grateful that my bill to protect children from the harmful addictive aspects of social media unanimously passed the House State Affairs Committee today! We are leading the nation on this important issue! H542 is now headed to the House floor for a full vote.

idk. Maybe parent your kids? Use parental controls. Teach kids how to safety use the internet. Teach parents how to use parental controls. Put pressure on the government to force companies to improve parental controls. There thank me for fixing your problems with common sense
SHUT IT DOWN NOW. Kids are literally dying. BIG TECH knows this & as long as the $ rolls in & there is no accountability, they consider kids collateral damage. #SunsetSec230 Congress needs to step up & support KOSA - Kids Online Safety Act immediately.

Bill is still bad. It violates our first constitutional rights. Right to access information freely. Which app store accountability act and ohio's parental act does. It violates us from expressing our freedom of speech by baring social media using IDs. (more in replies)
I would like to address this point directly because I think it is important to distinguish the regulation at issue from the App Store Accountability Act. Although I disagree with the District Court's opinion there, even applying the judge's logic, ASAA still passes muster. This

Australia’s under-16 social media ban is now the model regulators are copying. Once enforcement starts, VPN use spikes. A 2026 European Parliament briefing shows people reaching for encryption the moment age checks appear. Instead of reading that as a warning, governments are

If you want to know what gatekeeping in a community actually is, it's just nationalism at a smaller scale. Nationalism works. Deal with it, hippies.

I’m learning a painful truth that MANY parents are just physically incapable of: - turning on parental controls - not buying kids a device that connects to the internet/social media - being someone their kids feel safe to talk to

This bill is awful lmao. I highly doubt it last very long until the courts strikes it down. This bill violates our 4th constitutional rights. Just to guess what the user's age is awful. It's just an overreach to know what their age is. It violates 1st constitution as well

The problem is that our side lets shit go after a week, while the leftist cancel mob is willing to push for months and months to get what they want. We need persistence, something we lack. GROW SOME BALLS, PEOPLE!

On the 30th anniversary of CDA Section 230, we're urging Congress to #RepealSection230, arguing the law has shielded Big Tech from accountability even when platforms profit from harms like child sexual abuse material. We call for change so survivors can get justice & tech finally

Every single piece of news I read, just makes my mood turn fouler... Nvidia cancels RTX50 series "Super" refreshes, outright. It also is reported to delay the 60 series till 2028. They are also crippling production of higher-end 50 Series card like 70ti, 80, and 90...To focus

Section 230 is an integral to the health of the internet and the users on it so we can express our rights to freedom of speech. It's despicable for the government to sunset it. Can section 230 be improved and fix some flaws in it. Yes. However, going as far as to repeal is awful

Can you can explain this doesn't violate the fourth constitution? How can you explain that it doesn't put anyone in danger of fraud, theft, deep fakes and blackmail by leaks. How can you explain this doesn't violates our human rights? I can keep go on going with questions btw
Do laws requiring age verification on app stores violate the First Amendment? Critics say yes, but that argument misses the mark. This video explains why well-crafted app store legislation is constitutional, content-neutral, and focused on conduct rather than speech — all while

Hold on, Phase Connect issues an “apology” over a talent’s criticism of a Minecraft “gamemode” that perpetuates racial hatred… But stays completely silent over another’s opinion over someone who got politically dispatched with a firearm? I see how it is. And good job bending

Already after this announcement from Phase you can see groups of people gleefully discussing the next talent to "teach a lesson" as well as how hostile these non-fans are. They don't like it, watch it, or support it but they do want to control it.

This needs to be a top issue people need to push besides affordability and immigration along with other issues but internet privacy is my big issue going into midterms
Not all Republicans are good. In fact, I'd say very few are. When you have primaries, make sure you get their stance on Internet privacy and what their stance is on ID verification online. Make sure their stance is a principled "NO" on digital ID.

without section 230 the internet will fall. They know this lol. Ain't some of the supporters of this also support ID age check laws? If so. They know section 230 stands in their way. They know they need to take it down for the laws to work. Wow
Yet another flagrant misrepresentation of Section 230. Prior to Section 230, if companies did *nothing* to clean up content, they were immune. The law therefore incentivized negligence. Section 230 fixed that.
