Since the start of 2023 sheep & lamb prices have dropped alarmingly. Consumers should be enjoying a price break at the supermarket but it's failed to materialise, leaving many asking why? Check out Robbie's latest in @thelandnews and on our website here:

Good to see Greg, like all crops with access to stored moisture the crop is so resilient to the unseasonal spring temperatures , great observations ๐
Samira fabas podding up & still green on heavy clay soils at Alleena. Despite the dry spring, stored soil water + full stubble retention paying off. Fantastic ryegrass control + crop comp (sowthistle, fleabane) on 195mm rows. Grub spray to come + croptop & windrowing ๐

Still amazes me how badly gly is antagonised by 2,4-d on sowthistle, even dropzone which is supposed to be less antagonistic @NufarmAustralia This is a 12trt trial and shows some interesting brews and outcomes on our key weeds. #aggrowagronomy @AlbertGorman1 @lukeschulz9

5t/ha DM (50-60 cm deep) vetch in rice layout . 1st photo 10th Aug, day of initial knockdown. Double knocked-7 days. 2nd photo 13th September (5 weeks). Amazing how the vetch becomes brittle and reduces. Plan drill seed rice in 3 weeks.

Faba beans are always a strong indicator of any aluminium at depth. April sown fabas patchy & struggling to nodulate whilst other areas look good. Ideal time to start 5cm pH testing to check for an acid throttle & guide lime requirements.
