Well, maybe it is just because if their work is cited, then they do are experts in the field and can genuinely appreciate the content of that manuscript then ?.
Reviewers are more likely to approve a manuscript if their own work is cited.

Gna gna gna.Les longs trajets en VE c'est la catastrophe et en plus avec des enfants.
C'est parti pour notre premier grand voyage routier avec les 2 enfants ! . On part avec 100% de batterie (recharge à la maison comme 99% du temps). 7h20 de conduite + 1h de recharge environ. 1er arrêt à 2h pour pause apéro puis toutes les 1h40 ;-)
