Thank you so much @unibern, Prof. Dr. Katie Peichel, and Dean Prof. Dr. Jean-Louis Reymond for awarding me an honorary doctorate for my work on #ResearchIntegrity. Congrats to the other recipients as well. What a wonderful ceremony! https://t.co/jVoD1kYuWs...

The collapse of trust in science is going to go down in history as one of the most sad, bizarre, and destructive social contagions of modern times. We cured diseases, fed billions, and powered nations - and people ran toward conspiracies instead.

This is genius: edit gut bacteria so they express a set of genes that lets them break down oxalate (which can form kidney stones) This worked in a small human trial, reducing oxalate levels without disturbing the rest of the gut microbiome

🚨 NEW: One of the largest COVID-19 vaccine studies ever (28 MILLION people in France) just dropped. Results? • 74% lower risk of death from severe COVID-19 • 25% lower risk of all-cause mortality • No increase in 4-year mortality • Vaccinated people had lower risk of death

12 former FDA commissioners from both parties just went on the record calling Vinay Prasad’s vaccine framework a threat to public health. They bring more than 3 decades of leadership at the agency, and it is hard to think of a more forceful warning. 🧵 https://t.co/UE6YOafBOj

Very nice talk today by @MicrobiomDigest at @ETH_BSSE on image manipulation in scientific research. It was jarring to hear that some journals overlook clear issues with publications, even for more than a decade, allowing falsified, non-reproducible research to remain published.

It's the time of year for reminiscing. Me? I'm thinking back to when @SabinehazanMD said she'd try to put people who disagree with her "in jail." Her threat was deleted but happily someone took a screenshot (see link): https://t.co/Tnng1iYf4r

Wow! New research suggests the shingles vaccine may cut dementia risk by ~20% and might even slow progression for those already diagnosed. If confirmed, a safe, widely-available shot could be one of our best tools yet in the fight against brain decline.

@Kevin_McKernan @SciGuardians Or you could just post it on a preprint server? This seems weirdly convoluted.
