At the Rainbow Bridge: Him: is this your car? Me: no, it’s a rental. Him: why are you driving a rental? Me: because I don’t own a car. Him: you don’t own a car? Me: yes. I walk to work. Him: and your wife? Me: she takes the subway. Him: you let her take the subway?

Remember this from the end of the last council meeting when Councillor Alejandra Bravo wanted to divert less than a million dollars from the $48 million police budget increased to support unhoused residents? This response was toxic and unhinged. 👇🏼

“Does your motion propose to defund the police?” Councillor Brad Bradford asks Bravo. Bravo rereads her motion. “So can you clarify that your intention here is to defund the police?” asks Bradford. Bravo again points to the text of her motion, about redirecting $900K.

Just over a year ago, I was approached by staff at Infrastructure Canada to research and map Canada’s intercity transport links, based on my ongoing work mapping Ontario’s bus and rail connections.

The City of Toronto will have private security guards patrol a handful of parks 24/7 to try and prevent large encampments like last summer. A tender soliciting security firms for the job went up last week. My latest scoop here #TOpoli

I mapped every intercity passenger rail service in Ontario and Quebec in 1955. Only a few routes remain today.

Brad Bradford, who got just 1.3% of the vote placed in the top five in only one ward – his own, Ward 19 Beaches-East York. Even there, he got just 4.7%, placing behind Josh Matlow in 5th place. That has to be humiliating.

Tory's campaign puts out a statement accusing Keesmaat of being a tax-and-spend, "NDP" candidate. Say she needs to "come clean with voters" on taxes. It's Day 7.
