We need more critical discussion of CCS strategies in 🇩🇰 - the industry will not listen to the science, they only care about shareholder value 💀 .See e.g. this recent letter from UK context for accessible details that even policy makers can understand .

We brought scientific arguments: e.g risks and uncertainties about upstream emissions, hydrogen leakage, storage/transportation, monitoring/enforcing, ownership, crowding out investments in alternatives. on top of obvious ❓ of scale and time horizon

The Oil Slicks joined us 🖤 but the 4000kr ticket price tag and conference enclosure keeps critical perspectives out of discussing ‘The Future of the North Sea’. CCS and corporate capture goes hand in hand, while activists cannot even engage with conference participants.

A fancy conference venue for greenwashing: academics mingling with the industry selling false solutions to keep business as usual running.
@de_jever @KeirMilburn 25 years back renewables & CCS were nowhere. Now renewables have been demonstrated to deliver affordable electricity at scale. Meanwhile CCS has delivered an industry of PR nonsense &a series of failed pilots but virtually no meaningful generation of electricity. Time to move on!.
