Cops claim he “smelt strongly of alcohol” had “glassy eyes” & was “swaying back and forth.” Also showed 5 of 8 clues on sobriety test. (Like every DWI police report ever written.) Blood alcohol = .02. If it can happen to #TheBoss it can happen to anyone

@kimoggforda is responsible for HCJ overcrowding, b/c too many of her prosecutors push for jail time based on alleged bond or probation violations. Judges who don’t stand up to this BS share responsibility. @tcdla @HCCLA_org

#HarrisCounty has spent millions gearing up for pandemic jury trials. It has spent *ZERO* surveying & studying whether jurors will represent a fair cross-section of the community. Huge issue ignored! @TCDLA @HCCLA_org @NACDL

This is wild, even by Texas standards: The judge in a death penalty case *hired the prosecutor* as his law clerk during trial. And no one told the defense for 17 years! Here’s more, from the latest filing in Clinton Young’s case: https://t.co/kOSwuKQQa8

When all 57 Buffalo police officers on the emergency response team resign because two were suspended for knocking down a 75-year-old man and sending him to the hospital, this seems like an opportunity to find 57 new police officers who don't approve of assaulting senior citizens.

1/2 .. False confessions do happen, & it’s important for judges, prosecutors & jurors to understand why. In this case cops lied to an intoxicated suspect & got him to confess to a murder he didn’t commit. Appalling, but probably not technically “illegal.”
