Don't fall for this trick -- pleading a DV case where the S drops the affirmative finding. They will try to prevent you from non-disclosure & still try to enhance a subsequent charge. Credit to @hunterbiederman. There is one benefit: it feels better. @tdcaa @TDCAANews

#TrialTipThursday Don’t give the State a sneak preview of your defense. If they’ve shown nothing you do or say will persuade them to dismiss (or give you an acceptable deal) - they get to see your defense along with the jury. @lawyerthoughts @epccdla @SACDLA

It wasn't "The System" that sentenced #AmberGuyger to 10 years in prison, it was 12 Dallas County citizens. Among it's many advantages, Texas' use of #jurysentencing gives the community a greater role in the CJ system and helps to legitimize the end result, whatever it may be.

#TrialTipThursday Jurors need psychological permission to acquit someone. It’s important for them to hear acquittals are routine, no one gets fired for a NG verdict, and the sun still comes up tomorrow regardless of the verdict.
