What a week! And it doesn’t stop there. I am so proud to be the writer of this spoken word piece. Big shout out to Tanga who brought it to life for us.
Earlier this week we launched our new bold strategy #WeAllBelong. To accompany the launch we created a new campaign video which we feel really conveys the power of belonging in sports and activities, and what that means - we hope you like it!

A big day. Not only a new strategy but impactful research into the social value of disabled people being active. (Spoiler alert: three/four times that of non-disabled people). Looking forward to seeing everyone later at Lord’s cricket ground. #WeAllBelong.
We are very proud to introduce our new strategy - We all belong. It's the result of powerful collaboration with our partners and we are confident it addresses the major barriers that disabled people face when trying to be active. More info: https://t.co/yMJ0HwCmdB

Disabled women face a staggering 30% pay gap compared to non-disabled men, equating to an annual loss of £6,780. This disparity underscores the intersectionality of disability and gender in the workplace. #DisabilityPayGapDay

Today is #DisabilityPayGap Day. The average disabled worker works for free for the rest of the year - in comparison to their non-disabled colleagues. GMB supports mandatory disability pay gap reporting and action to close the gap.

This. We don’t talk about #DisabilityPayGap enough
From today disabled workers effectively "stop" earning for the rest of the year because of the pay gap between us and non-disabled workers. That gap sits at 17.2%, with non-disabled employees making about £2.35 more per hour on average. #DisabilityPayGapDay #FairDues

I’m closely watching what this means to so many disabled people and how much emphasis is put on employers not just recipients

💬 "I didn’t think disabled people were allowed in films, because I didn’t see any." Whether it's in the workplace, in sport, or in film and TV, this is why representation is so important. https://t.co/74fQAtp1A2

I’m intrigued as I don’t know how many times this company (and many others) has let me down as a disabled person. Any step change is ace @Jamestaylor2

Such an important figure. When your life is ruled by extra costs, it impacts everything else in your life. Social inclusion, personal wellbeing, activity, health… this is not just a ‘money thing’, it’s a society problem, if not you or a loved one today… high chances tomorrow
Life costs more for disabled people. And this price tag is rising. On average, disabled households now need an extra £1,010 each month to have the same standard of living as others. We're calling on the government to fix this. Will you join us? 👇 https://t.co/3mRLaVIvCZ

Excellent use of flow charts to illustrate the way disabled people are often expected to do 10x the labor and spend 10x time to do things as simple as taking a train.
@Eurostar Just to clarify, are the attached flowcharts accurate for the booking process for wheelchair users and non-wheelchair users?

Not sure what I’ll do tomorrow without Paralympics. But I know one thing - the work doesn’t end here. Society is far from equal for disabled people. 200 athletes - 16m disabled people in the UK. Equity Avengers assemble! We’ve got plenty of work to do at @AllForActivity. Join us.

Sir Keir Starmer told @channel4news that transport accessibility for disabled people should be a ‘basic requirement’. It comes after former Paralympian Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson says she had to crawl off a train at King’s Cross station because no staff were there to help her.
